Quitting smoking stories

Hi all, I quit smoking in Nov 2019. Glad to have joined here (hope the forum gets more active in future!). As a writer I've been collecting stories from people who quit (https://outwittrade.com/how-to-quit-smoking) and hope to be able to help and inspire more people to quit.

Tragically Not Canadian

I read the privacy policy and terms of service. It said nothing about having to be Canadian to be on here. Simply required a legitimate Canadian postal code, which I lifted directly from the terms of service or privacy policy page.

I am within an hour of my quit. I mean, I have quit within the hour. Sigh. I will not be on here for forty days. And I am confident that, if the admins do not kick my account to the bushes, I will be back in forty to report successes.

I read all the readings I have been given access to. Participated in a few. Train your loved ones to be healthy, by kind rewards for healthy deeds and habits.

If you have no one to train but yourself, I suggest ya start with yourself.

Quit now for a more beautiful life, is a campaign on the public buses in my city.

I didn’t believe it when I first saw it and at first wasn’t ready to quit.

Blessings to all, even those trying to make a living.

Yikes!

"Strategic Breathing" to reduce/deal with stress

'"Strategic" or "combat breathing helps firefighters race into burning buildings, police officers face armed resistance and soldiers fight in close combat. Definitely high-stress, high-risk situations. Our day-to-day stress may be less dramatic, but it’s real, it’s ours, and the distress can be intense'

We found this great explanation about "Strategic Breathing" used to deal with stress. Check out this post written by Dr. Charles Sheridan, who has good professional qualifications. His blog deals with all sorts of topics that help increase resilience, so its worth checking out.

If you try it, post whether it works for you.

Help in quitting smoking

My husband is a smoker for years. I knew that he was a smoker before marriage, but it didn't bother me much. Very recently he had a surgery for hernia @ www.shouldice.com/types-of-hernia.aspx . The doctors there told me that, one of the reasons why it was caused is due to his excessive smoking. He might just get it again if he doesn't quit. How can I convince him to stop? Please advise!
